Hello! I am a Research Scientist at the Boston Dynamics AI Institute. Before this I was a senior research engineer at SRI International. I am broadly interested in robotics, haptics and audio technologies, and most of my projects are related to one or more of these topics. More recently I have been focusing on robotic in-hand manipulation, specifically designing robotic grippers and developing manipulation algorithms.
I previously received my PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Minor in Computer Science) at Stanford University, adviced by Prof. Kenneth Salisbury in the Stanford Artificial Intelligence laboratory. I completed my MA in Music Science, and Technology and MS in mechanical engineering at Stanford University. Before that I received dual BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
